Exclusive Backer Alpha launches today!

alpha

Since the Kickstarter ended we’ve been working on all the remaining chapters, and have seen some tremendous progress on, well, all of them. But because AtS is very dependant on exploration and building suspense through uncertainty, we do not want to spoil too much of what we’re working on yet.

But for a small taste, please accept this fresh screenshot! And we’ll be posting some more details going forward.

Backers of $100 up, on the other hand, had an exclusive Alpha as part of their reward, and will receive a separate e-mail today containing the details needed to access it. This Alpha features a section that follows soon after the chapter featured in the first Alpha. For those of you who missed this one, it can still be downloaded from these links: PC, Mac & Linux. If you do not want to spoil anything from the game, please feel free to skip both Alphas though.

Kickstarter Surveys
It’s still a while until the rewards and the game is ready to be shipped, so we have decided to delay sending the Kickstarter surveys. This is to be sure we retrieve the most up-to-date shipping details. Apparently, people move houses.

 In other news…
…our very own Espen got married recently! The whole Krillbite team were present, as music from Journey, Zelda and Final Fantasy made our eyes trickle. Congratulations to Espen and Ida, you are both amazing!

As always, please stay in touch on FacebookTwitterthe Forum and here on the blog. And if you know anyone who missed the Kickstarter, they can still support the ongoing development by pre-ordering the game! 😀

Hi, I would like to ask you a question, the game will be compatible with the joystick XBOX 360? =)

      Hi Claudio,

if your computer recognizes the joystick as a gamepad it should be compatible with Among the Sleep.

I got a question. I am interested in preordering the game but I have seen how you’re making the game to use the little headset to make it look like you really are in the game. Do you HAVE to have that headset or can you play without it?

      Hey Dahlia,

the little headset (I presume you’re talking about the Oculus Rift) will not be necessary to play the game. It will be implemented for those who wants that extra little bit of immersion, but the game will work just fine on a regular screen as well 🙂

Ugh, this kills me.. if I wait for enough money to buy Oculus Rift then I will be waiting a long time, while on the other hand once its released I can download it due to my preorder…. its so hard to choose what to do! and even though I am bad with horror games I just want to play this game so bad but I know I will not be able to sleep for weeks after… even the first trailer made it hard to sleep for the night after…
